Employee and Contractor Privacy Notice (U.S. Properties and Departments)

This Employee and Contractor Privacy Notice applies to the personal information of those who seek to be, are, or were employed by, or were hired as an independent contractor by, any organization or company located in the United States that is owned, managed, or controlled by Caesars Entertainment Inc. or its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Company”). 

In connection with the operation of its businesses, the Company has collected, or may collect, personal information about you for certain business purposes, as described herein. These purposes include communicating with you and handling administrative and other tasks related to your application, your placement with us, your services or employment with us, any legal requirements applicable to you or us, and appropriate use of the information in the event of legal or compliance issues involving you or the Company. The Company may not collect every example listed within a category nor use every example for each business purpose identified within such category.

Employment/contractor application process

The Company also separately maintains protected health information (“PHI”) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”).  Please see our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available on Company’s benefits website, for information on how we use and maintain PHI.  PHI is not within the scope of this Employee and Contractor Privacy Notice. 

As part of our efforts to keep our employees and customers safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, we may also collect certain medical information from our employees on a day-to-day basis, including some or all of the following:  experiences with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and bodily temperature readings and/or thermal scans.  This medical information will be collected by other Caesars employees and will be kept confidential and not disclosed in any way that identifies you unless we are otherwise required to disclose the information based upon applicable U.S. State or Federal laws. While we understand the sensitive nature of this information, refusal to provide such information on a daily basis may result in your inability to perform your job and/or other restrictions being placed upon you while at work.

Much of the information we maintain has been or will be provided by you, but some information may come from other internal sources, such as your manager, or external sources, such as previous work references, medical professionals, or tax, judicial, or governmental authorities.

In addition to the business purposes set forth above, the Company may use these categories of personal information:

  • To fulfill or meet the reason you provided the personal information;
  • To comply with our health and safety obligations, including those related to COVID-19;
  • To establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • To comply with applicable law, court orders, subpoenas or governmental regulations;
  • To respond to requests by public authorities, including for the purpose of meeting national security or law enforcement requirements;
  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, disposition of all or substantially all of the relevant assets of the business, bankruptcy or similar event (including due diligence related thereto);
  • As described to you when collecting your personal information; or
  • As otherwise authorized or required by applicable law. 

Note that we may retain application information for unsuccessful applicants beyond consideration of the immediate position for which the application is submitted as a reference in case future positions become available and are of interest. Application information for successful applicants becomes part of the applicant’s employment file and is treated accordingly. All personal information may be retained for a period of time only as consistent with applicable laws. 

Additional information for California residents

We do not sell or share any employment/contractor-related personal information to unrelated third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.  However, in the event of a merger of the Company with a third party or the sale of any Company-affiliated properties to a third party, we may transfer your personal information to the new owner(s). 

We do not use or disclose any employment/contractor-related sensitive personal information for any purposes other than the original purposes for which the information was collected or other purposes as allowed under applicable law.
